As the news of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) increases and cases in L.A. County and neighboring counties multiply, PTSA would like to provide the school community with information regarding Coronavirus in order to equip the community with tips and proactive measures to help prevent the spread of the virus.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) stated publicly that community spread of COVID-19 in the United States is likely to occur. On March 4, 2020, the County of Los Angeles declared a state of emergency and confirmed six new cases of COVID-19 in L.A. County, which has increased to 11 as of March 6. The state of emergency was not to cause alarm but was declared in an abundance of caution in order to enhance the county’s preparedness and increase support from the state and federal partners. There are currently no cases in the city of Santa Fe Springs and no cases at PTSA. Therefore, all planned school activities will continue as scheduled as of now. If there are any changes, notices will be sent out to all the members of PTSA community when such change occurs.

If you plan to travel to international regions designated by the CDC as a Level 2 or 3 risk (i.e. Italy, Korea, China, Japan) you will need to complete a clearance process with the office of student affairs.
